This is the establishing shot of the stagecoach full of kids arriving at the huge theme park of Pleasure Island. To create this concept I spent most of the time trying to come up with a good design for the stagecoach. I made a few side views of the vehicle. The one shown is probably the most similar to the one depicted in the final concept.
The background it was fairly quick to add to the scene, as I used photos of different theme parks at night. There is not a design work behind it. In this image was more important to focus on the stagecoach, so the theme park is just a noisy background of lights and attractions.

I made this artwork for the first cancelled version of Disney's live action film 'Pinocchio' with Rick Heinrichs as production designer. Director Paul King had to leave the project and the film pre-production was put on hold for a while. So I am not part of the crew in the final version of the film that is finally released. Nevertheless, it was an exciting project to work on.
