Dreamland rides - Sketches

Dreamland is the big amusement park in Tim Burton film 'Dumbo'. In the film the part that is shown most of the time is the big avenue that connects the entrance with the Colloseum. For the aerial views of the park when Dumbo flies and other establishing shots, production designer Rick Heinrichs wanted to create ideas for other attractions that could be used to populate the park. I made these sketches in the final part of the project as a collection of ideas and a source of inspiration for the VFX department in order to create a big model of the park. They are quick sketches made in just a few days, inspired by old attractions of the old amusement parks of the 19th and early 20th century.

I worked in this film as concept artist in the art department at Pinewood Studios, London. This was my second collaboration with production designer Rick Heinrichs.
