Canto Bight Casino / Stampede

These are some of the images I made for 'Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi'. It is the main casino in Canto Bight, a place where the most rich people of the galaxy can gather and spend their money. Its a big mushroom-shaped building with a great hall inside. The design is luxurious but simple and not very decorated. The casino is a very busy and crowded place, so the idea was to create a minimal interior so the focus would be in the gaming tables and the crowd. I have also added one of the images I made of the Fathiers stampede coming out of the main entrance.
I had the luck to work with great artist Kim Frederiksen on the development of this set.

I worked in this film as concept artist in the art department at Pinewood Studios, London. This was my first collaboration with production designer Rick Heinrichs.
