Numenor King's Chamber

This is the final illustration for the private chamber of the King of Númenor. A big space inside the tower where the big bed and the vertical drapery are the focal point of the set. The ancient and rich architecture has elven and human elements that connects with the history of the city. Windows were so important for this set. A close look reveal sea related ornaments on the columns and the pointed arch with sea waves motifs. On the other side, the leaf-shaped window mullion and frames have a clear elven influence. As an architect I love to create drawings that can be used as a reference for the construction of the physical set.

I had the pleasure to work for almost 2 years in the art department of 'The Rings of Power' with production designer Ramsey Avery. Five months of that time was onsite with an amazing art team in Auckland, New Zealand.
