Sanctum Sanctorum - Main Foyer

The Sanctum Sanctorum is the the residence and headquarters of Doctor Strange. These images show the Sanctum Sanctorum main foyer, one of the most important space of the building. This space had multiple version during the design process. Initially it was supposed to have a double staircase, but the final version has only one big staircase.
The decoration and the stile of the architecture is mixed and takes inspiration from many different sources. Combine so many different languages in architecture is usually a challenging process but the lack of a very distinctive style was needed to support the idea of a mysterious and cryptic place.
It was a pleasure to work with concept artist Stephen Wong in the development of this iconic building.
