Númenor Court - Main Hall

The main hall of the Court of Númenor is an open space under a big dome, like the Pantheon in Rome. It ha inside 4 towers with bells and two plinths, for Tar-Míriel and Pharazôn. These concepts show a more eastern look than it is finally made for the sets. Queen Míriel is sitting on the floor surrounded by embroidered rugs and luxurious cushions, taking inspiration from 19th century Orientalist art.
The design of the Court of Numenor was a long process including black and white sketches, 3d model and final illustrations. It was in the last part of the process when I added the blue and gold finishes, giving an ancient and rich look to this magnificent building.

I had the pleasure to work for almost 2 years in the art department of 'The Rings of Power' with production designer Ramsey Avery. Five months of that time was onsite with an amazing art team in Auckland, New Zealand.
